Larimar is a pastel aqua blue gemstone with swirling white inclusions. This stone was first discovered by Miguel Mendez in the Dominican Republic in 1974, who named the stone from a combination of his daughter’s name “Larissa” and the Spanish word “mar,” meaning sea. Metaphysically, Larimar is believed to represent stress relief and inner peace. Larimar can be used in gemstone healing to enhance restful sleep and alleviate worry.
