Opal is a beautiful iridescent gemstone that occurs in several different pastel colors including white, yellow, and pink. The name origin of Opal is believed to be a Latin translation of the Sanskrit term “upala” which means “precious stone.” This stone was originally brought to Europe through trade with India in the 16th century. However, 90% of Opal currently available is sourced from Australia. Metaphysically, Opal is believed to hold healing properties that can enhance creativity, authenticity, and individuality.
