Azurite is a deep blue stone often containing inclusions of rich green Malachite. Both stones have nearly identical geological makeup. Azurite is named after the Persian word “lazhward,” meaning “blue.” This stone is most commonly found in the US, Mexico, Namibia, Morocco, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
